An enlightening presentation on ancient Christian spirituality: “The Healing of the Human Heart,” Sunday, October 21, 3:00pm at Three Hierarchs Orthodox Christian Church, 1915 N. Wenatchee Avenue, across from the Wenatchee Cemetery.

This presentation will illuminate the scriptural, early Christian teaching on the centrality of the heart in the personal Christian’s asking, seeking, and knocking for union with God, through our Savior Jesus Christ, by the grace of the Holy Spirit.  “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God” (Matt: 5:8).

  • Learn about the ancient Christian understanding of the “anatomy” of the soul and how the heart functions as the “spiritual control center” for the human person.  Discover the real meaning of Romans 12:2, which is not apparent in our English Bibles.  “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your _ _ _ _.”
  • Understand the scriptural difference between the “mind”, the “heart”, “thoughts,” etc.
  • Discover how the early Christians sought to overcome distraction in prayer and to pray unceasingly (1 These. 5:17).
